Applications Engineer (US)

The Opportunity


We are looking for a talented Applications Engineer who has experience in leading technology integration and testing with customers. In this exciting role, you will plan, coordinate and conduct the integration and testing of our products, extract and record new customer requirements while working closely with all functions across our business. The role offers significant scope for professional development in the fields of customer engagement, product development and marketing.




Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct trials and demonstrations with customers to illustrate product capabilities and how they align specifically with customer objectives

  • Lead the planning, design, implementation and reporting of trials, both internal and external

  • Capture market/customer feedback and requirements

  • Provide technical support to the Sales and Marketing team

  • Design and implement acceptance tests in coordination with the Product team

  • Collaborate with the Engineering team on technical solutions during the development process

  • Support the generation of sales, marketing and product collateral, including capability briefs, product sheets and user-guides

  • Provide training to FocalPoint staff and customers in how to evaluate our products

  • Help manage the technical relationships with customers

  • National and international travel to trials locations and customer sites

  • Grow, train and manage in-house trials and customer support teams to support the above activities


Job requirements


Essential

  • Relevant experience in wireless, telecommunications and/or semiconductor industry (e.g. leading technology evaluation with customers)

  • Working knowledge of GNSS receivers

  • Strong programming experience in Matlab, Python or C++

  • Able to quickly understand, use and explain new and complex technologies to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal


Desirable:

  • In-depth knowledge of GNSS

  • Extensive experience within the GNSS industry

  • Business and technical communication skills - can help align technical value to the client’s business needs


Salary: $80,000 - $130,000
