Location: Flexible/Remote - (travel to offices Bristol/Cambridge and other sites may be required)

The Opportunity:

Reporting into our Chief Operating Officer, FocalPoint is looking for a Senior Brand and Comms Manager to own the execution for all brand, PR and communications initiatives to ensure consistency across all touchpoints both internally and externally.

You will collaborate with the Founder and other key executives in the development and maintenance of the company’s brand strategy and strengthen it in line with the company’s vision and mission as we continue to grow internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support key commercial areas to drive a strong brand and increased product awareness whilst helping operational teams on their respective agendas using your direct customer and industry awareness

  • Own the delivery of a strong Public Relations strategy, raising both company profile and product awareness within our target industries

  • Oversee our external communication strategy with current and future investors, trade and industry journalists and industry bodies to ensure they continue to promote and improve a positive awareness of our company, brand, products and the broader industry

  • Be a brand champion for internal teams, helping to bring engagement in our brand from all members of staff into everyday working environments

Job requirements

Your Experience


  • Proven experience in developing brand and communications strategies that support business growth and brand value for B2B businesses across highly technical customer segments

  • Experience in managing external agencies and support services in order to execute against the plan

  • Strong business acumen and a solid understanding of the dynamics of B2B tech marketing

  • A passion for understanding emerging technologies, especially around the navigation and positioning environments and how they can be marketed and communicated within and outside of FocalPoint

  • Strong presentation skills and experience in articulating company information and business strategies, both externally to customers and industry stakeholders and internally to product and engineering teams, and investors.

  • Experience in building partnerships and relationships with a proven ability to influence

  • Ability to operate with agility and be comfortable carving out a strategy where there is ambiguity

  • Clear experience in empowering people to take thoughtful risks using every experience as an opportunity to drive a culture of innovation and growth

Other Desirables:

  • MBA or similar qualification in Marketing Management

  • Strong track record of building internal and external brand growth strategies and plans

  • Strong communication and writing skills in English and ability to work across business lines, presenting to the Executive Team, investors, customers and other associates

  • Previous B2B experience essential, and experience ideally within a technological environment

  • Solid knowledge of SEO, web analytics and Google Adwords

  • Experience in speaking to the press and at public events

  • Ability to rapidly process information and understand and prioritise competing business needs
